Did a drain on a 10 plate Kia car tonight, first time I had to do one that had been started and run for 3 miles on the “bad stuff” – car had conked out and been towed to the customers house and needed a proper drain and clean out, filters – pipes, common rail etc, I was looking at the engine bay and it was as cramped as they get, not made for “field servicing” as we say, anyway on the top of the filter next to the primer was a handy little bleed nipple with a plastic cap, it turned out to be one of the easier full drains I have done, Just connected the hose to it and pulled out all the petrol and then after putting in 10 litres of diesel – pulled that through and viola, started on a few turns and ran fine – which was lucky considering the mix he had done and the fact he conked it. well thought out of the car maker – shows a bit of foresight.
