If you’ve come this far, then the chances are that you have already misfuel’d, but make it the last time!
95% of misfuels occur when petrol is put into diesel vehicles, this is because a petrol nozzle will fit inside a diesel tank, however a diesel nozzle will NOT fit into a petrol tank (unless it is a japanese grey market import or pre 87 car).
There is a system available which can be fitted in around a minute that makes misfueling impossible, I would recommend it to anyone who has diesel vehicles.
The case for installing a prevention versus draining tanks after the fact is compelling to say the least, a fuel drain and watsed fuel is only the start of the cost of a wrong fuelling, If a driver does not know he has misfueld and breaks down, it is often the main dealer who will discover the misfuel, and 6 to 8 thousand pounds is not unheard of, or you might just get lucky and have to drain the tank, unscheduled downtime, lost drivers time, late deliveries, etc are all part of the headache of a wrong fuel.
I highly recommend SOLODIESEL, these guys make the best misfuelling cap I have come across yet, – and I’ve seen them all, I have never attended a misfuel where one of these had been fitted, whereas I have attended 100+ misfuels where the ford/rangerover/jaguar misfuel prevention kit was fitted.
Solodiesel works, its easy to install, it doesn’t jam, seize, break or fall to bits, its not fiddly or hard to use, its simple enough that you don’t need to explain how it works to occasional drivers.
Here’s the Solo Diesel cap, it will only allow a diesel nozzle in,
